This was my first visit to Luna Sea and I ordered the Halibut fish and chips. Unfortunately, the fish was tough and overcooked. The fries were good, though. But the Cole slaw was awful and the tartar and cocktail sauces were not good. The tartar was bland and the cocktail had no zing, it desperately needed horseradish!
The server was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was cute and quirky. But their food will not draw me back for a second visit.
I recently dined at Luna Sea Fish House and had a fantastic experience. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the delicious Large Tiger Prawns, cooked to perfection and not over breaded. The homemade clam chowder was another standout dish, creamy and rich with generous portions of tender clams and hand cut potatoes. Right off the highway the place has a cozy feel, not fancy. The staff provided excellent service. Luna Sea is a must-visit for seafood lovers looking for a memorable dining experience.
The food was good. Steamers had peppers in the broth which was weird but tasted ok.
Their chowder was different. Tried to figure out what all was in it. Seemed like they were trying to hard to be something different and it still wasn't great.
The restaurant was noisy. There weren't many people there but they had a radio going and it was turned up and hard to have conversation at our own table.
Overall disappointed
Best meal on the coast! House salad included walnuts, cranberries and mandarin pieces. We ordered the cod deep fried with thick cut fries, the batter was flaky and light with great flavor. The clam chowder was probably some of the best I’ve ever had. The decor and atmosphere was cozy. 5 stars!
We had dinner here and enjoyed grilled fish with fries and coleslaw. Excellent, friendly service with delicious food and live music on Fridays and Saturdays. A very comfortable place to enjoy dinner indoors or outdoors around back.
My cousin and I went here for the first time while visiting Seal Rock beach. We were treated with excellent service by friendly waitstaff. We both loved the food we got, and we were well accommodated for while placing our order. Great prices and portions, too!
I love that Luna has such fresh seafood caught on their own boat(s)! Fun atmosphere with live music and very friendly people. My cousin and I both agreed that we’d make a return trip anytime we’re around the area again.
I was excited about trying their new location. Having eaten at their Yachats spot a number of times, this experience was (understandably) different. I ordered their grilled fish sampler and fries. I forgot or it's new, but their coleslaw is sweet. Like sugary. It didn't work for me. Their steak fries are dusted in some season salt which was nice. The three fish were halibut, salmon, and tuna. Salmon was the best. The halibut was super soft and also sweet. Tuna was dense and dry. As much as I know people LOVE Luna Sea, it's not for me. Their servers came around a few times and checked in on me, which was appreciated. All the best success. 🙏🏼
Last night we went to Luna Sea in Yachats but they were so busy we decided to drive to Luna Sea in Seal Rock and it was well worth the short drive. We arrived about 7pm and picked a seat right away. The decor is really warm, light and bright. I love that they placed the menus under glass at each table making them incredibly accessable. When we were done with our delicious dinners, we were able to see the breakfast menu at the table and look forward to trying their breakfasts too. Hubby loved his halibut fish/chips & I had the cod fish/chips. Their coleslaw is the best commercial coleslaw I've ever had. A little sweet but not overly...just enough. Grandson had grilled salmon sandwich & he picked it up and never put it down again. He LOVED IT. It's a hit and we'll be back.
